BY ROAD:
By road the journey will take around 6 or 7 hours. From Dar es Salaam, go north towards Arusha. At the Arusha/Tanga T-junction (Segera) turn right. In Muheza there is a sign 42 kms to Pangani. Turn right and follow the dirt road. Note: It is a dirt road and if it has recently rained, the road can be very slippery. Continue on this road until you reach Kigombe Village. About 1km out of the village you will find the turning for Peponi, on the right hand side.
If the Muheza Road is not passable, continue on the tarmac another 30 minutes to Tanga. In Tanga, ask for the Pangani Road. Around 30km south of Tanga, you will turn left at Peponi.

From Tanga, Peponi is 30km south, along the Pangani Road. There is a regular bus service between Tanga and Pangani.
Located less than 1km north of Kigombe Village, bus and taxi drivers will be aware of where you want to be dropped.
A taxi from Tanga to Peponi should cost around 50, 000 TZS. Taking the bus, locally known as a dala-dala, will cost 2, 000 TZS per person.
Coming from Pangani, taxis should cost you 40, 000 TZS and buses 2, 000 TZS per person.
If travelling from Kenya or from Diani it is possible to fly in to Ukunda Airport and to drive south to the Lunga Lunga- Horo Horo border crossing. From here you follow a (very nice) road straight to Tanga. From the border to Tanga takes around 1.5 hours.
From here you will see signs to Pangani. Leave Tanga n the direction of Pangani and after around 30km you will reach Peponi!
